Survival Skills I is a 4 hour class that covers the basic skills and equipment needed for survival in an emergency situation.
Whether an emergency takes the form of civil unrest, vehicle break down in a remote area, being lost in the wilderness, or a simple camping/hiking trip this class will give you knowledge and skills you need to survive.
Topics that will be covered:
• Bug Out / Survival bag break down
• Water purification
• Fire starting
• Shelter choices, defend-ability and set up locations
• Fishing for survival
• Self-defense weapons
• Hunting & game
• Basic land navigation with map & compass as well as terrain association
• Survival food options
• Knives and other survival tools
• Clothing
• Basic First Aid
The instructor for this class is a former Marine with training in land navigation, first aid, jungle survival, arctic survival & tracking.
